World Food Safety Day: Healthy life with healthy food:

Safer Food, Better Health

Centre for World Solidarity, Jharkhand, celebrated World Food Safety Day on 7th June 2022 with the theme ‘Healthy life with healthy food,’ at Burudih (Nutri-Smart) Village intended to draw consideration and steadfast activity to help forestall, identify and oversee foodborne changes, adding to food security, human wellbeing, economic growth, farming, market access, the travel industry, and sustainable development.

World Food Safety Day 2022

CWS staged an awareness rally to educate and inspire the entire village about food safety measures and practices. Food safety posters were used during the rally march for daily enforcement of these measures. Through the campaign, the main focus of CWS was to highlight that healthy food practices are the need of the hour to ensure a healthy nation.

Post the rally, Chemical Free Agriculture Campaign was organized aiming to promote chemical-free natural farming throughout the county. This chemical-free agriculture campaign was launched to showcase the valuable impact of natural ecological farming.  During this campaign site demonstration of a nutrition garden was done which is developed and supported by CWS.

Nutri Smart Village Demonstration

Centre for world Solidarity in support of WHH with the motive to get direct access to diverse nutritionally rich vegetables and to increase, the purchasing power through savings on food bills came up in developing and supporting a nutrition garden. CWS also ensures that in rural areas where people have limited income-earning opportunities and poor access to markets get proper employment opportunities and gets nutrition value access at the same time.

Centre for world Solidarity was also organized where the participants were the mothers of those children, who were once malnourished but now after gaining proper knowledge from camps/PLA meetings, their kid’s grade has improved. Mother’s along with the Sevika displayed various healthy recipes.

Food Festival

For a whole day, other residents of the village kept visiting the festival. And the mothers proudly shared their success stories and their paushtik thalis. The intent behind the food festival was to promote awareness and encourage adequate steps to forestall, identify and oversee foodborne chances at each level of the society.

Poshan Thali

Centre for world Solidarity believes food safety is apportioned responsibility between government, producer, and consumer. All are equally responsible role to ensure if we are consuming healthy food or not. Through World Safety Food Day, CWS works together to fight against foodborne disease and ensure to work with the goal “Sahi Poshan Desh Roshan”.
