FPO Support Officer

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
- BSC / MSc Agriculture / Agro Forestry or Allied, MBA in Agribusiness/Rural Management / Rural Development or Equivalent from a recognized University/ Institute.
- Minimum 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience in Agri. Marketing/ Value chain Development / Business Development/ management and working with FPOs/ Large scale Farmers Groups or SHGs Program etc. Experience of working with large farmers groups will be preferred.
- Fluency in both oral and written communication in English & Local Language like Bengali/Odiya
- Good knowledge of Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Experience in Agriculture, Marketing, Farmer Producer Organization, Capacity Building & Training
- Marketing skills
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
Job Responsibility
- Managing the overall operations of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) promoted by the program. Mobilising farmers and Formation of Farmer Interest Groups/ Common Interest Group and nurturing the FIG /CIG to develop SME, conducting share collection drive to ensure smooth operation of the FPOs.
- Assess capacity building need of the FPOs and organise training accordingly in coordination with the team.
- Plan and coordinate with the project coordinator and liaise with field officer and Capacity building officer to complete the desired objectives.
- Shall be first level of grievance redressal and will guide beneficiaries further to redress their grievances.
- The Support officer will investigate and coordinate market connectivity options for FPOs
- Any other activities as and when required by the program and the organisation.
- This includes extensive travel.
